Some time ago, before herbalism entered my life :) I acquired a nasty case of hemorrhoids that flared up during a 6 hour drive to Phoenix. I went to the local Walgreens or similar and picked me up some ointment and wipes. The ointment is basically a mixture of oils and jellys. This is to cover the inflamed tissue so that you feel better, and if the tissue isn’t being irritated, then they can shrink down in time. The wipes were full of Witch Hazel extract. Witch Hazel is an astringent that can help in shrinking hemorrhoids. Astringents work like you putting some lemon in your mouth. You will suck in your face and make a that puckering look. Same thing your trying to do with Hemorrhoids is suck them back in.
Lets shorten this story now. Basically that stuff i bought just helped me not shoot myself. When i got home i got on the internet and looked up some alternative information. I made a doctor appointment which was only a few days out. Until that time I took baths with a huge amount of Epsom Salt in them. This was a really good one, and i enjoyed that a bunch. When I got to the doctor, he didn’t really want anything to do with my situation and wrote me a prescription for some suppositories. After my 5 days of suppositories the hemorrhoids went away and i was better.
Years later and a few days ago I started getting a small sharp pain during the #2 process and there was blood in my stool. Well, blood in the stool can be from a various amount of things including internal hemorrhoids. Because of the sharp pain i was sure of the internal hemorrhoids, but could have something else so i took some Dimmak Clot Pills for bleeding. When some hemorrhoid pains came on I decided to take a real approach to the issue.
I went to the herb shelf and pulled out the herbs for the Dimmak Herbs Hemorrhoid Bolus. A Bolus is basically an herbal suppository, and i know that the last thing anyone wants to do is stick something up there butt. However, if or when you get hemorrhoids and feel that uncomfortable pain, I’m sure you will do what works. The bolus is a formula of ground herbs and bound in cocoa butter. Cocoa butter is a healing substance in itself, but also is solid at room temp, but will melt at over 98 degrees (your body temp).
The Dimmak Hemorrhoid Bolus contains herbs like: Witch Hazel, Bayberry, Goldenseal, Horse Chestnut, Comfrey, and Slippery Elm.
Witch Hazel is an astringent and we already discussed it earlier
Bayberry is also an astringent in its own case, but brings blood through the area to heal areas. Bayberry has an affinity for healing tissue and veins, you can probably see the connect here.
Goldenseal clears heat (anti-inflammatory) and also an astringent. Both of these are beneficial. In addition to these herbs, Goldenseal is an overall tonifyer of anything it touches, and happens to be able to contract blood vessels
Horse Chestnut is an anti-inflammatory and stops bleeding, im sure you see the connection there
Comfrey has cooling, soothing, cell regenerating, and nourishing properties
Slippery Elm is a binder that provides lubrication, cooling properties, and helps bind the bolus
All of this combined makes for a fine bolus. Each order comes with about 10 bolus’ and they are about .5-.75 thick and under an inch long. The dosage is 1-2 nightly as needed.
On to my specific story, night one was a full dose 2 bolus’. Simply take them and run them under hot water quickly and insert. Although a little uncomfortable at first (not because of the insertion, but because of foreign object in your colon) until it breaks down. I went to bed and instantly felt better the next day. I backed down to a single bolus application for the next 2 days. Now basically back to a small annoyance, which is great. I will continue a single bolus for another 3 days.
When you have hemorrhoids going to the bathroom is scary part of the day, feeling better fast is a great thing.
to be updated in 2-3 days….

Some more tips for hemorrhoids:
You MUST make sure you are regular with moist stools. Dimmakherbs has has REGULATOR and Deuce if you need assistance here.
If you have external hemorrhoids try to push them in after you go to the bathroom
Protect them! Dimmak Herbs VAINE is a better solution to ointments youll find down the street, that contains herbs to shrink and get rid of the hemorrhoid as well as protect them.
Avoid spicy and greasy foods during this terrible time in your life.

Well, for 2nd day in a row I will give you another money saving tip on herbs you probably use alot. Goldenseal is a superior herb that has many great properties. It is anti-inflammitory, antiseptic, and tonifies to name a few. Goldenseal is known to be beneficial to almost every organ. There aren’t many formulas without Goldenseal for infections, hemorrhoids, vaginal infections, cysts, inflammation, ear problems, etc… Now that you may have ran over to one of your herbal supplements laying around and looked at it, you may think I’m a liar as you see Goldenseal no where to be found. This is because Goldenseal is endangered and I have seen pricing up to $80 a pound for this precious herb. Many companies don’t like putting herbs this expensive in formulas as to not get priced out of the market. Afterall, your not supposed to be the herbalist and know what these ingredients all do. Well, for those of you that use individual herbs or whatever let me introduct to you Coptis. Coptis known more commonly to me in its Chinese Name as Huang Lian Is a great substitute for Goldenseal. it even hapens to be yellowish when blended as well! As with many herbs that act similarly, I am not the first person to reviel this info. Coptis is not a penny on the dollar substitution, but It can definantly can be around 3-6 times cheaper! We use coptis in a few of our formulas for a few reasons. Some of our formulas are basically all powder bound together. To use Goldenseal would be really expensive in these cases, such as the Hemorrhoid Bolus we sell. The herbs are powdered and bound with binder herbs and Cocoa Butter. This would make our wonderfully priced bolus go up in price by 30% without much more effectivness. Many of our Chinese formulas have Huang Lian / Coptis in it to cool blood and reduce inflammation, we never substitute western herbs in Chinese Formulas. When exracted however, some of our forumulas do use Goldenseal like our Echinaceal blend tincture. Here is a forumla to choose to keep using all western herbs, and Goldenseal makes for good synergy in this combo.
